Imus to mark 125th anniversary of Battle of

IMUS CITY, Cavite: The local government of Imus City and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) are scheduled to celebrate the historic 125th anniversary of the Battle of Alapan and National Flag Day on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula, Cavite Third District Rep. Adrian Jay Advincula and NHCP chairman Dr. Emmanuel Franco Calairo, along with guest of honor and speaker Caviteño senator Francis Tolentino, will lead the flag-raising program at 8 in the morning at Heritage Park in Barangay Alapan with this year’s theme: “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan.”

City Administrator Hertito Monzon will lead the pledge to the flag, while Mayor Advincula, Rep. Advincula, Calairo and Tolentino will lead the wreath-laying at Imus Heritage Park also known as Shrine of the National Flag of the Philippines or Dambana ng Pambansang Watawat ng Pilipinas.

The historic Battle of Alapan happened on May 28, 1898.
