CDO congressman, wife positive for Covid-19

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Cagayan de Oro City First District Rep. Rolando Uy and his wife, Lorna, were hospitalized after they tested positive for Covid-19.

Uy’s wife is an incumbent barangay (village) chairman in the city.

Uy disclosed their medical condition on his Facebook account after rumors spread that his family, including his son, the incumbent city mayor, contracted the virus.

“We are in good status right now, and we hope to recuperate from this deadly malady. But I am [worried] about my wife, who [has had a] previous [medical condition],” the representative said.

Uy said he has instructed his congressional staff and his wife’s barangay staff to isolate themselves while being closely monitored by the city’s health team.
