SC sets up Covid facility for judiciary workers

JOMAR CANLAS

THE Supreme Court (SC) has set up a quarantine facility for judiciary employees infected with Covid-19.

In a statement Sunday, the SC partnered with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) and the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) in providing facilities for infected judiciary employees in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus bubble.

Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo said judiciary workers with Covid can be admitted at the PRC isolation and quarantine facility at the DLS-CSB campus.

One floor of the facility, which can accommodate 50 patients, has been reserved for judiciary employees.

The facility will only accept patients from the judiciary confirmed by the Supreme Court Medical and Dental Services (SC-MDS) as asymptomatic or mildly asymptomatic.

Admission will be on a first come, first served basis. No walk-in patients will be admitted.

The SC-MDS will submit to the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) a daily status report on the employees admitted in the isolation facility and the OCA will forward the report to the Office of the Chief Justice.

Included in the NCR Plus bubble are the National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal.

The SC is continuously looking for ways to help infected judiciary workers get admitted in hospitals.
