CHRISTIAN CROW MAGHANOY

SAN Juan Mayor Francisco Javier “Francis” Zamora said that the city government will open on Saturday its Covid-19 booster vaccination drive targeting the A1 to A5 categories.

“But we need to remember that it takes six months first after the second dose. So, you repeat all that,” Zamora said over a radio interview on Friday.

He also noted that individuals who wish to receive the boosters must also utilize the online Covid-19 vaccine registration.

Local residents “who have no access to the internet” may register by sending a text message to 09683320244 for Smart subscribers, or 0967-4699522 for Globe users.

Registrants must indicate the following information in their text message: complete name, age, date of birth, address, category and cellphone number.

Residents must choose the category where they belong to: A1 – health care worker, household member of health care worker, overseas Filipino worker (OFW) or seaman; A2 – senior citizen, carer of the senior citizen; A3 – persons with comorbidities; vaccination required for onsite workers; A4 – essential worker; and A5 – indigent.

Local residents may also visit the local vaccination website for registration via https://vaxreg. sanjuancity.gov.ph/. Walk-ins are not allowed.

As of Dec. 3, 2021, there are at least 214, 231 residents who received the full dose of the vaccine or equivalent to 242 percent of the target population of San Juan.

Zamora also assured that the local government will monitor and observe the start of face-to-face classes in San Pedro Elementary school on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021.

“All DepEd (Department of Education) standards were being followed for its venue, facilities and its distance. If DepEd still has a recommendation that needs to be done, the LGU is ready to implement that,” he said.
