Teodoro willing to work with LGUs

FOR Senate candidate former Defense secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro, the only way to empower local government units (LGUs) is to be “as autonomous” as possible.

In a statement, Teodoro vows to work down to the barangay (village) level, wherein people expect “effective and efficient” services from its officials.

The former representative of Tarlac later said capacity-building at such a level “cannot be achieved” as village official are not motivated, which is why incentivizing the officials is essential “in order for there to be a sense of doing business particularly in this post-pandemic period where there is a need for a lot of capital investments.”

Teodoro, a former presidential candidate, will run for senator under the ticket of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
