PCUP, Grab PH partner for youth empowerment

THE Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) continues to strengthen its ties with the private sector through partnerships that would provide livelihood opportunities through skills training and much-needed tools for income development.

This is in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s advocacy for inclusive governance that would uplift the lives of Filipinos, particularly those belonging to marginalized groups and the urban poor.

In this regard, Grab PH in partnership with PCUP launched on August 12 the “Daan ng Natigil” program, which aims to give assistance to out-of-school youths from urban poor families who want to uplift their lives and avail of PCUP’s initiative toward poverty alleviation and livelihood generation.

Grab PH donated free bicycles with delivery equipment to 30 youth beneficiaries from Pasay City and Makati. The beneficiaries would now have the chance to earn by using them for Grab delivery services.

In a statement, PCUP Chairman Elpidio Jordan Jr. cited that the program was the result of the continuing partnership of his agency with the private sector through the agency’s caravans that are being conducted in selected areas of the country.
