The Jubilee cycles and preparing for drought

JEREMIAH BELGICA

LAST week I was able to attend a seminar on interpreting End Time biblical studies. The Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Joseph Dumond, an expert on Jubilee and Sabbatical cycles, meticulously came up with a calendar which mapped out the entire history from Adam and superimposed it on a timeline based on the Jubilee cycles.

For those who are not familiar with Sabbatical and Jubilee years, it is important to understand that these years signal an end and a new beginning for the people. Hebrew people observe the seventh year as a Sabbatical Year where the land is allowed to rest and recuperate. On the other hand, a Jubilee year is the High Sabbath of Sabbatical years because it is the year falling on the seventh Sabbatical Year, or the Forty-Ninth Year.

A Jubilee year signals a new and fresh beginning for the nation of Israel. In fact, during the Jubilee year debts are forgiven, lands that have been seized by another are returned to their original owners and even disagreements between neighbors are settled.

Using his calendar and a keen understanding of the Hebraic feasts, Dumond was able to make sense of the different historical events and tragedies as previously predicted by biblical prophecy.

What is even more astonishing is that the calendar of Dumond does not only cover the past but also future events. It was in 2015 that I first learned of him and even back then he had warned everyone of the things that could be happening. I remember him give prominent pronouncements for 2017 and 2020. He said that 2017 could be a year where war could break out in the Philippines and that probably, Islamic extremists would be involved. He also mentioned that in 2020, a global plague or sickness could be coming to alter everyone’s lives. These two pronouncements are quite descriptive of what happened in Marawi in 2017 and the global pandemic that reached our shores in 2020.

So, last week, as I listened to Dumond’s talk, I was even more attentive this time, given his track record, on what could be in store for us in the coming years based on biblical prophetic studies. There were a number of explosive revelations that he made, but they were too many for me to discuss in this limited space. I think the most relevant among these is his prediction that within the next four years the continuing drying up of rivers and watersheds would escalate globally and that in the fourth year, a full-blown global drought would happen due to the lack of rain. Of course, as a preacher, his pronouncement serves as a warning in the last days to call for repentance and the turning back by the nations to God.

Well, whether one believes him or not it is still worth reflecting on the current global water situation. On Aug. 20, 2022, CNN published a news article titled, “The world’s rivers are drying up from extreme weather. See how 6 look from space.” It shared the dying and drying condition of six popular rivers in the world and showed footage captured via satellite. The article mentioned the US Colorado River “drying up at its banks and thinning out, as a historic drought in the US West shows little sign of abating.” Another is the Yangtze River in China which is drying up at its banks and its bed is emerging in some areas. Accordingly, China “has announced a nationwide drought alert for the first time in nine years, and its heat wave is its longest in six decades,” according to the report. Other rivers that were mentioned are the Rhine in Germany, the Po in Italy and the Loire in France. Perhaps the longest among the rivers mentioned is the Danube, which is Western Europe’s longest river and a crucial shipping channel that passes through 10 countries. According to the news report, “some cruise ships have been unable to pass parts of the river to even reach Hungary. Those that are still running can’t stop on their normal routes because so many stations have had to close as water levels on riverbanks fall.”

As for the Philippines, I believe that the direction of the President toward climate change prevention initiatives and projects are of utmost importance. The energy source transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy is imperative. Hundreds of billions of pesos are now pouring into the market for renewable energy. Investors and businesses here and abroad are now putting their mouths where their money is and are all in renewable and sustainable energy. The push for the use of electric vehicles, both for private and public use, is likewise another important step towards carbon emission reduction and sustainability.

However, given the global water situation, governments, industries and businesses should now increase their attention toward solving the water crisis. Building and developing desalination plants, opening freshwater wells, and instituting a stronger water conservation strategy for the nation should be on the top of everyone’s list of priority projects.

Heeding the warnings from biblical End Time experts like Joseph Dumond cannot hurt but instead even save us if it turns out to be true. Let me end by quoting the famous biblical passage pertaining to the healing of the land. The second Book of Chronicles 7:14 said, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
