BuCor frees 340 PDLs from various prisons

AT least 340 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) from various prison facilities were freed on Monday, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
BuCor’s data showed that at least 31 prisoners will be freed from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm, a prisoner from Philippine Military Academy in Baguio City, 21 from the New Bilibid Prison’s (NBP) maximum prison camp, 111 from NBP’s medium prison camp, 21 from NBP’s minimum prison camp in Muntinlupa City, 31 from Leyte Regional Farm, 42 from San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Southern Zamboanga, 27 from Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm, 21 from Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Palawan, and 33 from Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.
Most of the PDLs released were given the expiration of maximum sentence with good conduct time allowance, followed by those who were given parole.
The least are those from the expiration of maximum sentence with GCTA DO 652, returnee DO and acquittal.
Of those released, 128 were released from parole, 11 as returnee DO 652, 25 from expiration of maximum sentence with good conduct time allowance DO 652, 165 from expiration of maximum sentence with good conduct time allowance, and one for acquittal.
