British Chamber, PNB golf tilt big success

THE British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines took pride in hosting the Great British Golf Tournament in partnership with the Philippine National Bank (PNB) at The Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club on March 10. The event would not have been a success without its valuable sponsors, namely: Hole in One Sponsor: Etihad Airways; Fun Hole Sponsors: Shell and William Hill Classic; Hole Sponsors: Britpart, Cargo Hause, CBRE, Converge, Entain, Jollibee Foods Corp., and Pru Life UK; Golf Cart Sponsors: Auto Nation Group, Maybank; Raffle/Giveaway Sponsors: Admiral Hotel, CWC, Dusit Thani, JustPay.to, Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu Parklane and WildFlour. With the event’s two-year hiatus, players were eager to partake in the tournament which catered to 90 golf players from notable companies and golf enthusiasts. To properly kickstart the tournament, the tee-off was done by Chris Nelson, executive director and trustee, and Bill Bailey, chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.

After the players swung hard and finished strong, the awarding ceremony and luncheon was an awaited part of the event with the well-deserved awards are were given to the following: Winners list — Great British Golf Tournament 2023 Low Gross Champion: Rudy Fulo; Low Net: Felix Dennis Cortez; Ladies’ Division Champion: Honey Solante; Runner-up: Jovilhyn Singcuenco; Men’s Division Class A Champion: Tony Kennerly; Class B Champion: Joel Guisatao; Class C Champion: Manny Castañeda; Class A Runner-up: Rodney Hall; Class B Runner-up: Edwin Hernandez; Class C Runner-up: Rey Bancod; Fun Hole winners: Nearest to the Pin, Vincent Ermita (8ft); Felix Anthony Cortez (7ft); Longest Drive: Greg Martin (295 yards); Most Accurate Drive, Lorenzo Samson (6 inches).
