FOR the second time this year, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has implemented a reorganization among its ranks. The latest reorganization covers 11 ranking police officials of the PNP. The order, issued by PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., took effect on Friday. Among those affected by the order were Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 (Central Visayas) director BGen. Jerry Bearis, who was reassigned to the Aviation Security Group. He would be exchanging posts with BGen. Anthony Aberin. Also covered by the order was MGen. Oliver Enmodias, who was relieved from the Area Police Command (APC) Northern Luzon (NL) and would now head the Directorate for Research and Development. Meanwhile, BGen. Mafelino Bazar vacated his PRO Cordillera post for his new assignment at APC-NL. BGen. Alden Bacarra Delvo, on the other hand, was transferred from APC- Eastern Mindanao to PRO 11 (Davao). Also assigned to new posts was BGen. Joel Doria, who was designated as PRO-Mimaropa chief. He replaced BGen. Sidney Hernia, who was assigned to the Anti-Cybercrime Group. BGen. Limuel Obon was designated as PRO 5 (Bicol), replacing BGen. David Peredo Jr., who was reassigned to PRO-Cordillera. BGen. Benjamin Silo Jr. was designated as the new head of the Civil Security Group while BGen. Andrew Diwayan Cayad was assigned to the Directorate for Operations. Last month, a reshuffle also took place with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director MGen. Jonnel Estomo being tapped as the police force’s new deputy chief for operations. Estomo replaced LtGen. Benjamin Santos Jr., who was reassigned to the Office of the PNP Chief. Estomo was replaced by MGen. Edgar Allan Okubo as NCRPO chief. General Azurin earlier said the movements in the leadership of the police organization are just part of a regular revamp. He explained that the recent movement does not equate with clearance from the ongoing cleansing among third-level officers in the PNP, or those with ranks from colonel up to general.
