Marcos extends aid to Limay, Bataan

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday led the distribution of various government financial and LIVELIHOOD AID FOR FARMERS AND fiSHERFOLK in Limay, Bataan, as he gave assurances his administration will remain unceasing in supporting citizens in need.

Marcos handed out P90.1 million in assistance from the Department of Agriculture for the improvement of the Sitio Nazareno–Culis Farm–to–Market road and another P180.3 million for the construction of a fish landing facility in Orani, Bataan.

He likewise oversaw the turnover of reinforced boats with marine engines, fishing paraphernalia, and fisheries post-harvest equipment, with a total cost of P1.2 million, from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Certificates of the award included a fry holding facility, milkfish fingerlings, tilapia fingerlings, and a smokehouse, amounting to P3.7 million.

“We will not stop working to improve the life of every Filipino. Your government will not neglect you. If you say you need help, your government will continue to help,” Marcos said in Tagalog during the activity.

Also handed over was assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) under its various programs.

These included the DoLE Integrated Livelihood Program amounting to P6.8 million; Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad), P38.9 million; and Special Program for Employment of Students, P15 million.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), meanwhile, also launched a payout of P5,000 each for the 934 beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Division also gave out 1,000 family food packs, amounting to P777,000.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, on the other hand, gave out ovens and toolkits to its Special Training for Employment Program scholars.
