FREDERICK SILVERIO

OFFICERS and personnel of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) headed by its provincial director Col. Relly Arnedo joined the interment of LtCol. Marlon Serna to pay their final respects to a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The interment was held at the Eternal Gardens Memorial Park in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Arnedo reflects on the courage and dedication of those who serve in law enforcement, and the solemn duty to honor and remember those who have given their lives in the service of their country.

He said the legacy of Serna’s service will continue to inspire and guide those who follow in his footsteps, and his memory will always be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the local government unit in Bulacan have raised a cash reward of P1.7 million for anyone who can provide information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

A thorough investigation is being conducted by the Special Investigation Task Force Group (SITFG) formed by the Bulacan PPO that will handle the case following a directive of Police Regional Office 3 regional director BGen. Jose Hidalgo Jr.

Arnedo said that they have already identified two persons of interest as they are still gathering pieces of evidence and witnesses that could pinpoint them in the killing of Serna.

He added that on Thursday, the SITFG reenacted the scenes from the shooting incident in the town of San Miguel where the robbery incident happened up to the scene where Serna was shot to death in Barangay Buhol na Mangga in San Ildefonso town.
