Gary V and Chito Miranda ‘Roar’ with ‘Real Love’

OPM superstars Gary Valenciano and Chito Miranda were a hit at the AIA Philippines “Roar as One” concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, where they serenaded several customers of the insurance company with a poignant song titled “It’s Real Love.” AIA commissioned soughtafter composer Jonathan Manalo for the original single, which now serves as the theme of an ongoing campaign of the same title.

The artists revealed that they specifically called on Tin Manalaysay and her mom Marissa; Arnold Damian and his sister Hernalyn; Ivanna dela Torre and her husband, Chino, whose life stories served as the song’s inspiration.

“The song is about love in all forms,” explained Miranda. “This goes beyond romantic love and delves into the love we have for our parents, siblings and children. It’s a selfless kind of love that compels us to care for someone else more than ourselves.”

Valenciano, who revealed he instantly fell in love with the composition, meanwhile shared, “There are two lines in the song that really resonate with me:

‘Choose to show love in a special way’ and ‘lagi kang meron time sa pamilya’ (always make time for your family). My family means the world to me, so these lines feel incredibly real.”

Miranda expressed the song is a dedication to family, with Valenciano adding that it is also a tribute to those who have always put others first and made countless sacrifices for their loved ones.

Miranda said backstage at the concert’s end, “Performing this song was incredibly exciting because it allowed me to inspire others to do the same and provide them with options to secure their loved one’s future. It was heartwarming to see the people we sang to realize we were actually singing about them.”

Valenciano acknowledged how the song significantly offers peace of mind to those who hear it: “The future is always uncertain, and everyone seeks security. However, it’s our actions in the present that play a major role in shaping the future.”
