Negros Rotary golf tournament gets back on track

AFTER an absence of three years due to Covid-19, the Rotary “Golf for a Cause” tournament is back.

The 23rd Rotary tournament will be held on July 8 and 9 at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, Bacolod City. Organized by the Rotary Club of Bacolod Marapara, the event will see players from many parts of the country compete for top honors.

“This is an important event for us as the funds that will be raised will enable the club to conduct its many community outreach programs,” said Lani Ferrer, club president. “And it’s always a fun event.”

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund the club’s many programs which include medical missions, coastal cleanups, mangrove planting and a computer literacy program for disadvantaged youths.

Players can sign up on the first day of the event at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club.

Registration fee of P2,500 includes green fees, the awards dinner, mulligans and gimmes.

There will be exciting raffle prizes and attractive trophies for Class A, B, C, D and ladies categories’ champion, first and second runners-up. The tournament director is Rotarian Mike Bantug.
