JAJA Santiago returned and trained with Chery Tiggo on Friday, May 26, fueling speculations that she might play for the Crossovers in the 2023 PVL Invitational Conference set to start on June 29.

Chery Tiggo posted a video of Santiago, a back-to-back Best Middle Blocker in the Japan V. League, training with the Chery Tiggo players but did not write that Santiago will play in the Invitational Conference.

In the reel posted on Facebook on Friday, Chery Tiggo only captioned that the former NU Lady Bulldogs star was just sharing her “professional knowledge and experience with the team during training.”

Santiago, 27, is coming off a stint with the Ageo Medics in the Japan V. League where her team finished with a 24-9 record and made the playoffs.

In the 2021 PVL Open Conference, Santiago led the Crossovers to the championship while also taking home the Conference and Finals MVP awards.

Eya Laure to Chery Tiggo?

On Thursday, Chery Tiggo posted a graphic which showcased the silhouette of their five new recruits.

“They have arrived. Meet them soon,” Chery Tiggo captioned.

Eya Laure, who bid farewell to UST and the UAAP on Thursday, is heavily rumored to be one of those recruits.

Laure has already played for Chery Tiggo with her sister EJ in the Philippine Superliga before, and she signed as a brand ambassador of the car company in 2022 alongside NU’s Jen Nierva and Bella Belen. Hence, the rationale behind the speculations that Laure is joining the Crossovers.
