Times wins at Consumers’ Choice Awards

The Manila Times is Most Trusted Newspaper; Chairman and CEO named Most Outstanding Publication Executive

MORE than a hundred outstanding individuals from various sectors and excellent brands from different industries were honored for their achievements for this past year at the 10th Customers’ Choice Annual Awards held at the Grand Ballroom of City of Dreams Manila in Parañaque City on April 26.

Among the individuals and brands recognized were The Manila Times Chairman and CEO Dante Francis “Klink” Ang 2nd as Most Outstanding Publication Chief Executive of the Year and The Manila Times as Most Trusted Philippine Daily Newspaper (National).

Accepting the awards from Consumer Eye Marketing and Research CEO and Chairman of various prestigious award-giving bodies Wilfredo Lemque Jr. and honorary council member Ricci Reyes Ang was Michael Alexander Ang, younger brother of The Times Chairman and CEO, who is himself a board director of The Manila Times Publishing Corp.

Guest presenter and Outstanding Public Servant awardee Mayor Marcos Mamay of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte and concurrent League of Municipalities of the Philippines National Vice President-External Affairs assisted Lemque in handing the plaque and trophy for The Manila Times as brand winner.

Hall of Fame Achievers were Anthony Rosaldo, Male Singer of the Year; Charles Solano, Entrepreneurship; Jhoquiel Aperin, Entrepreneurship; and PHD Dancers, Performing Arts-Dance Group.

Chairman’s Circle Customers’ Choice Achievers for Entrepreneurship were Alfredo Maximo Jr., Eddie Calope, Elvie Calope, Fernan Ari Anquilo and Mat Ramilo Tee.

The NCCAA Council for 2022-2023 is composed of Wilfredo Lemque Jr. as chairman. He chairs various prestigious award-giving brands in the Philippines and abroad.

An educator based overseas for more than 23 years, he is currently based in Brunei Darussalam working as teacher/ instructor in the school owned by the foundation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

He is an entrepreneur with various business interests in branding, marketing, travel, events, entertainment, financial savings and investment consultancy.

Lemque is the chief executive officer of Consumer Eye Marketing and Research, the research arm of World Class Philippines 2022. He is also a pianist/keyboardist, voice coach and choral conductor handling choirs here and abroad.

Honorary council members and presenters are Prof. Don Erick Bonus and events specialist Ricci Ang.

Bonus has just completed his Doctorate in Information Technology at De La Salle University-Dasmariñas. He has also completed his Ph.D in Computer Science at De La Salle University-Manila. He holds a Masters in Computer Science; finished Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila where he was President’s Lister and Academic Excellence Awardee.

Presently, he is the Executive Vice President of the Jose Rizal University Faculty and EmployeesmUnion.

On the other hand, Ang has been in the business for almost 40 years, considered a pioneer in the events and entertainment industry, top social events and wedding planner, premiere corporate events organizer, and owner and creative director of R&A Events Specialist.

He is also a former celebrity talent manager and a fashion show director.
