British Chamber reinforces UK-PH trade relations with Philippine Embassy in London

PHILIPPINE Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro Locsin Jr. met with British Chamber of Commerce Philippines’ Executive Director and Trustee Chris Nelson recently at the Philippine Embassy in London.

Aside from Ambassador Locsin, Nelson met with Third Secretary and Vice Consul Beatriz Martinez, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Rhenita Rodriguez, and Director of Philippine Trade and Investment Michelle Sanchez.

The meeting focused on reinforcing UK-PH trade relations which were highlighted by the success of the Great British Festival in BGC.

In addition to this, there was over 50,000-foot traffic with various UK brands and companies such as Shell, Marks & Spencer, HSBC, Union Jack Tavern, CyberQ, and Diageo’s Johnnie Walker that highlighted an all-British-themed weekend.

They also discussed the achievements of UK-trade investments in the country — such as Diageo’s acquisition of Don Papa Rum and Inchape’s controlling stake in the CATS Group of Companies.

With the total trade between the UK and the Philippines being £2.4 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q4 2022, the British Chamber looks forward to strengthening the British presence in the Philippines and further boosting the UK-PH trade and investment opportunities.
