Heart Evangelista’s definition of luxury

BY CHRISTINA ALPAD

A QUICK look at Heart Evangelista’s social media profiles will easily show just how much luxury surrounds her. From the multi-hyphenate’s designer clothes, bags, and shoes to her well-appointed home and, to be sure, her frequent sojourns to tres chic Paris.

But luxury is not just about specific brands or labels for the woman with access to this grandeur level.

“I think luxury is all about being smart; it isn’t just all about ‘It has to be expensive.’ Instead, it’s about the future. So, in terms of luxury, say clothing, I wouldn’t buy something expensive if I won’t be able to use it a thousand times. I ask myself when I’m 60, can I still wear it?

“In terms of living, it’s your mental space. It’s where you charge your soul, so it’s really important to invest in something that does well for your soul and your body, and then the rest will follow. I think that’s the true meaning of luxury,” Evangelista shared at a media event.

With this definition of luxury, the celebrity also stressed that she only buys these wants after careful consideration.

“Of course, I’ve made mistakes in the past, and I have already paid for them. But now, every time I buy something — even if it’s just a shirt, shoes, or bags —, I will first consider whether it’s a good investment. I wouldn’t just buy it because

it’s a trend or pretty or cute.”

Her thought process includes asking herself, “If I’ll need cash, will I be able to sell it for its original price? Will I be able to sell it for double the price? Will it increase in value?”

With her deep appreciation and understanding of the value of big-ticket items, it’s no surprise that Evangelista is also a favorite endorser for luxury brands and services that are certain she can make consumers understand what they are investing in.

Evangelista, the face of RLC Residences, attended the grand launch of the new project in the Queen City of the South to help spread the word.

The event also saw the attendance of RLC Residences officials headed by Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager John Richard Sotelo, who said, “We are very proud to finally unveil this development that we envisioned for our future residents who are on the lookout for a home and investment that they can proudly call theirs.”

Mantawi Residences — which will rise at the heart of Ouano Avenue in Mandaue City — offers spacious living spaces and built-in smart home devices for its one-, two-, and three-bedroom units.

Additionally, the four 40-story towers will also offer exclusive and spacious penthouse units with multiple loggias.

To top it all off, the upscale development will boast a 1.3-hectare amenity area with oversized facilities such as beach-inspired swimming pools, a waterfall, a pet park and more.

“Where are you gonna find that? It’s like having your own world within Mantawi,” the artist exclaimed.

The property will also offer a curated retail experience on the ground floor featuring global brands.

“I kinda know more or less what’s gonna come up, and I guarantee that it will be such a place where people can hang out. It’s not going to be snooty, and everybody can go. I’m excited about that,” Evangelista teased.

Investing in a property is a luxury that might be overwhelming, especially for young adults who are just starting to build their assets, but Evangelista has these encouraging words to tell them.

“Don’t be afraid to ask people for advice. You deserve to have the knowledge and educate yourselves. At the same time, it’s never impossible to have big dreams. There are many ways to be able to afford something that has value, so don’t be in a rush,” Evangelista ended.
